Boston 25 Runoff Remediation

The Regional Trail Corporation and Elizabeth Township will reopen a 10-mile section of the Great Allegheny Passage near Boston, Pa. on Saturday, May 1, after a five-month closure to replace sewer lines running underneath the trail. The project included a near-complete resurfacing and widening of the GAP in this area, upgrading bollards, and the replacement of damaged culverts. The new limestone surface will remain soft through the spring, so please travel carefully. Please note that periodically the contractors and trail maintenance vehicles will be doing final adjustments and short detours or closures may be required. Big thanks to volunteers from the Mon/Yough Trail Council for coordinating the complicated details of this effort.

The Great Allegheny Passage ® (GAP) rail-trail offers 150 miles of hiking and biking from Cumberland MD to Pittsburgh,PA.
