The Great Allegheny Passage is open for biking, hiking, running, and exploring. COVID-19-related travel restrictions have been eased in Maryland and sections of Pennsylvania. The GAP visitor centers are now open at Boston, West Newton, Ohiopyle State Park, Rockwood and Meyersdale. Most bathrooms and water sources are also open along the 150-mile GAP corridor, but not all of them - please carry extra water.

Many lodging properties are welcoming guests; call ahead to check their status and make reservations. Some restaurants can accommodate indoor dining; others are still limited to curbside or takeout service. Several essential retail establishments are reopening with limited capacity. Bike shops are open and those that rent or repair bikes are ready for your business. Bike Tour Operators are also open.

The adjacent C&O Canal Towpath, it is open for travel, with some limitations. Visit the National Park Service website for additional information.

Please call ahead before making your plans to verify their status and hours of operation, be prepared to wear a face covering where required, and please be generous with tipping -- for the livelihood of neighbors who rely on tourism.
