Williamsport plans to allow camping at River Bottom Park

WILLIAMSPORT - By Dave McMillion davem@herald-mail.com — The Williamsport Town Council is pushing ahead with the idea of allowing camping at River Bottom Park.  Councilman Charles Brown III previously suggested the idea of allowing camping in the park, which includes a boat ramp into the Potomac River, picnic tables and an open space for recreation.

It is situated near the mouth of Conococheague Creek and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal.  The park also figures into history because it was the site of the original Potomac River ferry crossing for the town, according to the C&O Canal Trust.  Read More...
