Professional contractors will pave a few hundred feet of the Great Allegheny Passage underneath a construction site for a new Layton Bridge on April 23 between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, and will provide a free shuttle for bicyclists and hikers around this work area that day. This paved section is intended to be temporary while a new bridge over the GAP and the Youghiogheny River is built during the next three years. This quick shuttle will run from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm from approximately mile marker 101.9 (near Tunnel Road) to 103.9 (parking lot in Whitsett). Please note that if April 23 experiences steady rain, the paving and the shuttle may be moved to April 24.
Paving on April 23; please use free shuttle.
