Beginning on September 1, Allegany County began deploying professional contractors to rehabilitate the historic Borden Tunnel, at mile marker 17.9 along the Great Allegheny Passage, between Frostburg and Meyersdale. Please be aware that construction vehicles will be present on the GAP and occasionally inside the tunnel. Please use extra caution and be prepared to dismount if requested by contractors. There may be flaggers present to pause trail users while equipment is being moved in and out of the area. This work is expected to continue through April 30, 2027.
Tunnel rehab work underway; please travel cautiously and slowly.
