Culvert Replacement in Ohiopyle State Park Requires Short Detour

GAP Mile 79 | Reported on | Last Updated:

Contractors deployed by Ohiopyle State Park staff will replace a culvert that sends stormwater under the Great Allegheny Passage and into the Youghiogheny River near mile marker 79. Work will begin around November 15, weather-permitting, and will last approximately 3-4 weeks. The GAP will remain open to travelers, and a temporary footpath will provide a short, single-track detour. Please dismount your bicycle, and watch for construction vehicles on the trail near this remote location.
