Water Main Upgrades to Slow Travel on GAP Near Cumberland

Contractors deployed by Allegany County are upgrading water lines under the Great Allegheny Passage near Cumberland, between mile markers 1 and 2, through approximately November 24. The GAP will remain open, although bicyclists must dismount and walk their bikes where posted. Please be mindful of construction vehicles on or along the trail and slow down for everyone’s safety. Note that this work takes place adjacent to live railroad tracks and may require extra caution. Crews will restore any damage to the trail surface upon completion.
