Located near Mile Marker Zero on the Great Allegheny Passage, Charis is Cumberland’s first and only winery and distillery. Their products are made on premise in their shop at Canal Place, and made with only Maryland grapes! There’s something here for every drinker; a dry red or sweet white from the winery, or you can try a bourbon, rum, brandy or vodka from the distillery. Charis keeps a small rotating collecting of local-made beer, and they’re always serving hot pizzas. In the hot months, cool down with their famous vodka slushies! They have indoor and outdoor seating, available year-round. Their staff is known to be friendly, and loves to answer questions you might have about their historic town and trade! The patio at Charis offers great views of two different states at once, and front row seats to watch steam engine #1309 pull into the train station at the famous scenic railroad next door. Charis is easy to find – you can ride or walk directly to their location from the Great Allegheny Passage. Free guest wifi, dog-friendly, close to free overnight parking and easy hotel access! Come, relax, let Charis pour you a drink!
