Amtrak To Resume Daily Service Along GAP

By Bryan Perry |

Amtrak’s Capitol Limited will resume daily service in both directions between Chicago and Washington, D.C. beginning May 31, 2021.  In addition to reservable seats for passengers, each train has eight reservable slots for traditional bicycles, making a return trip along the Great Allegheny Passage or C&O Canal Towpath easy to plan.  With stops in Downtown Pittsburgh, Connellsville, Cumberland, and Harpers Ferry, you can add flexibility to your biking or hiking itinerary.

Amtrak's Capitol Limited Roll-On Service

Twelve cross-country routes, including Amtrak’s Capitol Limited, faced reduced schedules due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.  Restoring daily service will improve options for all who enjoy traveling by train.
