Storm Damage in Ohiopyle State Park

GAP Mile 64 | Reported on | Last Updated:

Heavy rain and high winds on August 10 and 11 resulted in many downed trees in Ohiopyle State Park, significant rockfall at mile marker 69 (passable, but please dismount), as well several clogged culverts and resulting washouts along the Great Allegheny Passage. Crews are out clearing and making repairs as quickly as possible. The largest washout is between mile markers 64 and and 65 and requires bicyclists to dismount and walk over loose stones and mud. You may get your feet a bit wet here or in similar sections between Confluence and Connellsville. Please be patient and watch for construction vehicles and clean-up crews.
