Resurfacing in Ohiopyle State Park

GAP Mile 73 | Reported on | Last Updated:

Contractors deployed by staff at Ohiopyle State Park are resurfacing a large section of the Great Allegheny Passage between Ohiopyle and Connellsville beginning October 19. The GAP will not be closed, but please be aware of construction vehicles, workers, and materials along the corridor. Be prepared for flaggers and occasional stops to allow trucks carrying fresh limestone through. This work, orginally intended to result in over 13 miles of newly-improved trail surface, is paused for the winter with about eight miles complete. Travel cautiously as the remaining five miles yet to be resurfaced are particularly worn by construction vehicle travel.
