Known for historically and currently

A quarter mile off the Great Allegheny Passage, Kentuck Campground occupies an open hilltop within Ohiopyle State Park and offers 200 modern sites, each with picnic tables, fire rings, and a most with a parking space.  Many campsites have electric hookups, plus a sanitary dump station and shower houses are available.  Cottages and yurts can be rented. The campground was built long before the GAP was constructed, and requires a relatively steep hike on a narrow footpath.

Pertinent info about landmark (parking, hours, best time of year to visit, etc.)

Kentuck Campground is open from April to mid-December and requires paid reservations made with Ohiopyle State Park in advance to ensure availability.
